How to Join
Admission Policy:
All members of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment must abide by the Royal Charter, Bye-laws, Regulations, and to uphold its high standards as published in its Professional Code and Membership Regulations. For information on the CISI's admission processes and rules, please read our Membership Admission Policy document, which covers all membership fee information, billing, lapsing and the reinstating processes. Please also read Annex 3 which forms part of the membership declaration.
Eligibility Criteria:
Membership (ACSI & MCSI) of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment can be attained either by achieving Institute qualifications, or via certain recognised, external qualifications.
Student membership is available to candidates studying for any CISI qualification, or any other relevant external qualification.
Affiliate membership is available for financial services staff in professional or administrative roles where they have no need to pursue a regulatory qualification but wish to keep abreast of industry changes.
Our Grade Selector offers guidance on which membership grade you will be eligible to apply for. Alternatively, you can find details of joining via CISI Qualifications or via a list of acceptable external qualifications.
Application Process:
All application forms are available in PDF format for admission to each grade of membership, or to upgrade to an individually chartered member. Former members (ASI/ACSI and MSI/MCSI) seeking to rejoin the CISI should use the Membership Reinstatement Form to reactivate their membership. Please note former FSI members would need to reinstate as MCSI.
Membership fees:
Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment membership subscription fees range from £100 to £185 per annum and are payable on a pro-rata basis at the time of joining, for all grades except Student membership. Subscription renewals are all due annually on the 1st April. Click here for a full list of fees.
