Ofqual recognition

The CISI is recognised as an awarding body by the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual).

Ofqual is the independent education regulator for England. It gives formal recognition to organisations that deliver qualifications and monitors awarding organisation activities. 

Qualifications frameworks

The assessments and qualifications regulated by Ofqual are collected into number of separate frameworks: 

• National Qualifications Framework (NQF)
• Qualifications & Credit Framework (QCF)

CISI qualifications are currently held on both frameworks although all will gradually be moved to the Qualifications & Credit Framework:

• CISI qualifications on the National Qualifications Framework
• CISI qualifications on the Qualifications & Credit Framework

Details of all qualifications that are accredited by the regulators of qualifications in England (Ofqual), Wales (DCELLS) and Northern Ireland (CCEA) are held on the National Database of Accredited Qualifications (NDAQ).
